DESCRIPTION
Created and presented a slideshow to non-technical users explaining the importance of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and how it protects against common threats like stolen passwords.
When
March 2025
This project focused on promoting security awareness through the development and delivery of a non-technical training module on Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). The goal was to help everyday users understand why MFA is important, how it works, and how it protects both personal and organizational data.

The project began with outlining key authentication concepts, starting with how identity is typically verified using a single factor, such as a password. The presentation then introduced MFA as a layered security approach that uses multiple types of authentication. These include something you know, such as a password; something you have, such as a code or physical device; and something you are, such as a fingerprint. The emphasis was on showing how MFA lowers the risk of unauthorized access, even if a password is stolen.

To make the risks feel real, I included widely cited cybersecurity statistics, such as the high percentage of data breaches linked to stolen or weak passwords, and how millions of credentials are compromised weekly. These statistics helped build urgency and justify the need for layered authentication, especially in today’s threat landscape.

The slideshow was designed for clarity, using simple visuals and language to ensure the message was accessible to non-technical users. It concluded with a clear call to action, encouraging users to enable MFA wherever possible and recognize it as a standard practice, and not as an inconvenience. This project reinforced the role of security awareness as part of organizational risk reduction and aligned with best practices for fostering a security-first culture.
